I am a Danish/British macroeconomist who after studying at Cambridge took up employment as an economist. Then, after a brief break living abroad, studying Mandarin and teaching English in Wuhan, China, helped launch an artificial intelligence fund and macroeconomic consultancy business in London.
After, experiencing the high paced city environment, I received a scholarship to study my MBA in IESE, Spain, so moved out to Barcelona, exchanging at MIT and studying at Harvard Kennedy School. During my time in my MBA I became immersed in the start up world, working as a growth consultant and helping out start-ups in the UK, US and Latin America. After my MBA, I co-founded AL Ventures, a venture builder, looking to enable prospective entrepreneurs who did not have the financial means to launch.
Nowadays, I split my working time between seeding ventures through AL Ventures, start-up consulting and writing on economics and geopolitics. On the side of that I am a fitness coach for Midnight Runners and a mentor for Harvard Business School’s Field X program.
Through AL Ventures we identify proven business models which work outside of Southern Europe and build co-founding teams to adapt these technologies for the Spanish market. If you are based in Barcelona and are looking to be an entrepreneur, but don’t have the capital to fund an idea yourself, please reach out.
Outside of this I consult a high growth start ups designing and implementing growth plans or cost reduction strategies. Usually working with start-ups between the $2-10mn of annual revenue or corporate small venture arms. My experience is more limited on pre-revenue start-ups. If you are a start-up founder looking to grow, struggling with a scale-up or looking to bring down costs after funding has dried up. I may be able to help, if interested please reach out.
Finally, I engage in a little bit of writing, having published “An Optimist’s Brexit: A Millenial’s Vision” and written for outside publications on public policy, economics and geopolitics. Please feel free to browse the content in the tab Economics & Politics and if you have any constructive thoughts or comments, do not hesitate to reach out.
